Serendipity Stamps - APRIL Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Serendipity Stamps April Blog Hop!!  I hope you have enjoyed seeing the new products on the HOP!  I made a Peony card with the darling new stamp shown on the banner above.

You should have arrived here from:
Marybeth Lopez

I made a unique folding card for the HOP.  The flap with the Peony on it opens up and the flap at the bottom opens down to reveal the message on the inside of the card.

Just something different for a change!
I embossed the pink background paper with an embossing folder for texture.

I have 2 peony shrubs in my garden and wish I could grow more.  Here in Atlanta it gets too hot too fast for the blooms to survive very long.  So, almost as soon as they open, the petals start falling off.  A professional told me to get the Festiva Maxima variety for the best result.  It is white with a streak of magenta in the center.  I can wait till the blooms open!

Here is a picture from last May.  You can barely see the magenta streaks.

I am the last blog on the list.
Here is the whole list in case you need it:

Graphic 45 - An Eerie Tale Angle Card

I have been playing with An Eerie Tale paper from Graphic 45 lately.  I made this angled tri-fold card and decorated both sides of it.  Here is the front and I did a ribbon closure that is tied on the side.

Here are the 2nd and 3rd front panels of the card.  I could write a message on the postcard.

These are the shorter panels on the backside of the card.   You can see that this fairy shows on the front side of the card when it is closed.  I got the fairy die as a freebie from Spellbinders at CHA last month.  I never thought I'd use it but look how pretty it is with this paper!

The backside last and largest panel is shown here.  Decorating the backside of the card is optional.  But, I love to use patterned paper whenever I can!  Especially paper as pretty as this one is!

The card measures 4 x 6 closed.  Cut your paper to 6 x 12 and score at 4 and 8.  Then make a mark on one edge at 4 inches then cut at the diagonal from the 6 inch end to 4 inches.  That gives you the angle at the top.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Graphic 45 Raining Cats & Dogs Book & Case

When I got this great new paper by Graphic 45 I knew I wanted to make an accordion book and case for it.  I painted the edges of the case and book black before I adhered anything.
Above is the front side of the case.

Here is the other side of the case.  The image is just part of one piece of 12 x 12 paper and a little die cut cat in the corner.  The case measures about 5 x 7.

I glued a ribbon across the front of the book leaving the ribbon hanging over the sides.  This way you just wrap the ribbon around the back of the book and tie on one side.
This picture is the front of the book.

Here is the back of the book and I untied the ribbon so you could see the whole page.

On to the pages.....there are LOTS since I decorated the front and back of the book.

more pages....

I used the Banner and Tags plus the Journaling Cards to decorate the pages.

The black mat tucked behind the picture sides out and a photo or journaling can be adhered to it.

The strip of stamps is a pocket.  This black mat also pulls out.
So, there is lots of room for pictures of Cat & Dogs!

Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea Cards

Recently I taught a class of 5 cards I designed with Graphic 45's Botanical Tea papers.
Here are the cards which are all made with the 12 x 12 papers.

My inspiration for this class was the sheet with 6 - 4 x 6 pictures, Love Notes.

Love Notes

The sentiment is also from Graphic 45's Botanical Tea set.  I stamped it first with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink then die cut it with a Spellbinders die.

I custom designed the size of this pocket and used the Envelope Punch Board to make it.  It had to fit the tag inside so I cut the paper 6 3/4" square.

The cute little teapot die is from Serendipity Stamps.  The tag is stamped with another image from the matching stamp set.

I call this one the FRAME card.  I die cut the window out of the blue piece with a Spellbinder die and popped it up with foam tape.

When I saw this great Anna Griffin die I just knew I had to have it and pair it up with Botanical Tea!  The big roses are fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.

I've moved on to teaching a class of cards and a box with a matching mini book with Graphic 45's By the Sea collection.  Next up is Good ol' Sport!
Have a great weekend!

Come Away With Me card

Just a quick post for a new card I made with Graphic 45's Come Away With Me papers.
I did some fussy cutting on the people and car and popped them up with foam tape.  The stamp in the corner is from the matching chipboard collection.

I used the Anna Griffin large flourish die for the accent piece.
I just LOVE that floral paper with the brown background.

Graphic 45 has started making Journaling Cards to match some of their collections.
I used one inside my card.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Serendipity Challenge - Shades of Grey

Shades of Grey is the new monthly challenge over at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog! I've always loved a black and white combo so this one wasn't too hard for me.  I made a matching envelope for my card with my Envelope Punch Board.

To start I used an Anna Griffin die to cut a black and a white layer.  Then I cut the white layer in two down the middle and glued it off-center to the back of the black one.   It makes for a nice highlight.  I used another die to cut a hole in the white card layer and put foam tape behind it.

This picture shows the window.  The die cut is glued flat and the sentiment layer has foam tape behind it.  This sentiment is my absolute favorite quote from many years ago.  When I asked Mary of Serendipity Stamps to make it into a stamp, she did!  And, the font is just right.

My finished card is 5 x 6 3/4.

Want to play along?  Just create a project using a Serendipity Stamps image or die by May 5 for a chance to win a $20 discount code towards your next purchase.  A winner will be chosen at random.  Make sure you use black, white and grey only. More details can be found here.
