Serendipity Stamps - February Blog Hop #2

Welcome to Serendipity's 2nd HOP for February!
You should have arrived here from Beth Chiu's blog.

Today I'm showcasing one of Mary's new sentiment stamps!
Awhile ago I was working on an all blue card and I wished I had
the sentiment, "I'm BLUE without you".  So, I asked Mary
to create one and she did!

I used 2 colors of Distress Oxide inks for the sentiment,
The whole sentiment is stamped in Salty Ocean then I went
over BLUE with Faded Jeans using my MISTI tool.

Here is the inside view.
The card measures 5 1/8 x 3 7/8.

The HOP Prize is a $20 Serendipity Stamps
Gift Certificate to a random commenter.
You can leave comments from today through Sunday
and Mary will announce the winner on February 26.

Serendipity's sale this month is

Holtz - Silly Monsters Day 1

I've made a bunch of Silly Monster cards with Tim Holtz's new dies.
I'll post one a day over the next few days.
I die cut them from Stardream Metallic paper with Distress
Oxide Inks on them.  I find using a coated paper helps the ink move
and react with water better than card stock and
metallic paper adds a little shimmer!

Inside is another little monster and a Penny Black sentiment.
Finished size is 4 1/4" square.

Have a great week!
  • Stamps: Penny Black - Happy Snippets, Tim Holtz - Slate & Stone CSM299
  • Dies: Tim Holtz - Silly Monsters, MFT - Stitched Square Frames, Lawn Fawn - Stitched Squares, W+9 - Conversation Bubbles
  • Ink: Distress Oxides, Versafine Onyx Black
  • Paper: Stardream Metallic - Hera 12x12, Neenah Solar White, Bazzill Licorice Twist
  • Other: Gelly Roll Glaze Pen - Black, Glossy Accents, Clear Embossing Powder

Serendipity Stamps - JUNE Blog Hop #2!

Welcome to the second BLOG HOP for June!
This time I used the cute SUMMER die!
On this card I used Distress Oxide Inks on shimmer paper
and clear embossed it before I die cut SUMMER.
It gives it a nice shine!

For the background on this one I applied my Oxide inks then clear
embossed some shells on top.
Glossy Accents is added to the sun to make it SHINE!
I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink
to color the edges of my card so it would match.

Inside I stamped one of the cute shells In Distress Oxide Broken China.
Finished size of both cards is 4" square.

We have a Guest Designer this month!  She is my good friend

Dear Santa Kitty

I just LOVE this little retro kitty from the Avery Elle
stamp and die set called Dear Santa.
On this card I paired her up with an Impression Obsession
sentiment and the My Favorite Things Quilt die.

After assembling the quilt I ran it through my
Vagabond with an embossing folder.
The finished size is 5x5 and I used
Penny Black Holiday Trimmings 6x6 paper.

A very simple tag die cut with Bo Bunny's tag set.
A little Copic coloring and done!

Another tag in Bazzill Heavyweight papers and a
Serendipity Stamps snowflake die cut.
I make lots of tags every year because they
are FAST, LITTLE and FUN!

Have a great week!

It's March 1st so its time for a new
challenge over at the Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge!
It is Circles and Dots!  What could be easier???
You have until Midnight March 31 to linkup your designs!

This is the NEW Serendipity GET WELL die!  Sometimes if you don't
want to stamp, use a sentiment die instead.

The bandana die goes with so many of Serendipity's products.
You don't have to have a western theme to use it.

Remember the old adage: An Apple a day keeps the doctor away?
A good stamp for getting well!

Finished size is 4 x 4.

We have a very special guest this month too! Jinny Newlin from Soaring!

SSCB #43 My Girl - Part 2

We are continuing with our My Girl challenge over at the
Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog!
Your project can have anything girly or a girly theme to it!  The added challenge for the Design Team is to have a special fold or pocket in our project.  I made a pocket on the front of my card.

I think I have enough pink and peach on my card for it to be considered "girly"!
To make the card I cut a piece of heavy card stock 5" x 12" and scored it at 2" and 7".  The 2" section is the pocket.

I stamped this seed packet on white card stock and colored it with colored pencils and blended the colors with Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits) and a paper stump.

I decorated the inside with more patterned paper.
The finished size is 5 x 5.

Feel like shopping?  The "stamp of the month" is Aprons.  You can purchase the stamp of the month all through MAY for 50% off.  You can see it here.

Color Throwdown # 338

Just a quick post today so I can show you a card I made for the current Color Throwdown Challenge #338.  I just love the colors they selected so I thought I would use some of my new dies to play.
The colors in the challenge are Teal, Green, Kraft and White.

Most of the dies are Impression Obsession.  They are SO affordable!!  AND Kitty Caracciolo is always such and inspiration for using them!

I used foam tape to pop the vase and layers but glued the tulips and branches down flat.

Have a great week!
  • Dies: Impression Obsession: Leafy Branch, Vase Set, Tulip Set; Bo Bunny - Lattice Frames
  • Paper: Bazzill Heavyweight - Teal, Green & Peanut Cluster, Penny Black - Painted Blooms 6x6, Neenah Solar White
  • Other: Mini Perfect Layers, May Arts Black Twine, Cuttlebug embossing folder, Bow Easy, Flourishes - For You stamp

Serendipity Stamps - Monograms & Verse 2

We are continuing the Monograms & Verse challenge
Create a monogram card or a card that features a verse.
Just make sure you include at least one Serendipity Stamps image on your design.

This round I was asked to do a Monogram project.  I just love the "H" in the Hello die so I went with that!  I die cut it 3 times out of heavy 110lb paper and glued them together to make a nice, thick "H".

Here is the closeup of the H.  I used some Spellbinders dies to make the rest of my card.
I wanted to have a spring look so I went with some new Penny Black paper.

This sentiment is one of my favorites for SPRING!
Finished size is 4 3/8" square.

Feel like shopping?  We're trying something new - a  "stamp of the month".  This month it's the Jar Label.  You can purchase the stamp of the month all through April for 50% off.
