Art Impressions Cards

Recently we had Sandy Allnock teach her classes at Impressive Ideas
at it got me started again on the Art Impressions Watercolor Stamps.
I bought my first wood mounted Watercolor Stamps about
10 years agoand I've been hooked ever since!

I can't draw so these stamps are ideal for me to get a
watercolored look.  I usually copy the ideas off the package
and find that works for me.  I need an image to start my
stamping and find that there are also great ideas on Pinterest.
Get some stamps and give it a try!

Graphic 45 - Jump Into Spring

Recently I taught a class at Impressive Ideas called Graphic 45 - Jump Into Spring.  I used Graphic 45's Time to Flourish cut apart papers for March and April. I wanted to work some stamping into the class so I used the coordinating stamp sets #1 & #2.  I kept the cards simple so people who are hesitant to cut apart their Graphic 45 papers would take the class.

I made 3 March cards and 3 April cards.  Here is the first March card.....

and the inside stamped with the Lilac stamp from set #2 with Distress Ink - Dusty Concord.

For this card I used the Happy Birthday stamp from set # 1 and
stamped it in Versafine - Vintage Sepia in.

The stamped butterfly is from set # 2 with the same ink.

The picture on this card has an Irish sentiment on it so I covered it up
with the little flag so the card could have many uses.

Inside the card I stamped the Violet from set #2 with Versafine - Spanish Moss ink.

This April card could be for birthdays, anniversaries, showers or just to say Hello.

Inside I stamped the butterfly from set # 1 with Distress Ink - Scattered Straw.

This tryptic card has 3 panels that don't all measure the same.

Inside I stamped the butterfly again from set # 1 with Distress Ink - Scattered Straw.
The strip of stamps is a pocket.

This is an Easter pocket tag card from the April papers.
The pocket is 4 1/4 x 9 1/4 scored at 4 1/4.

The tag could be stamped with an Easter sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my work from my last class.   Artisan Style up next.......

Have a great weekend!

Serendipity - SSCB Spring Fever #41

With the new month (can you believe it is March already?!)
we are starting a SPRING FEVER challenge
for you from the  Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog.
To participate just use any of Serendipity's images or dies in your creation
with this theme for a chance to win!  I have 2 cards to show you today.

The design team had an added challenge to make a
Saint Patrick's Day project this time.
I just love the cute shamrock die with the little hearts cut out of the stem!

I die cut and glued 3 shamrocks together before adhering to my card.
The little clovers are from the LUCKY word die.

Inside I stamped the great sentiment in Smokey Grey ink.
Finished size is 4 5/8" square.

On my second card I used a new background stamp from Serendipity.  It is called Beaded Strings Background and its available now!

I die cut LUCKY twice and glued them together.
Only one layer of the little clover on this one!

For the inside I cut off one heart from the
shamrock die and glued it to the liner.

Finished size is 5" x 4".

Serendipity Stamps - February Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Serendipity Stamps February Blog Hop!!  We have a bunch of new products to show you today and I have 2 cards I made.

You should have arrived here from the talented:
Marybeth Lopez

I used the fun new EASTER die on my card.  Sometimes its good to just have a sentiment on a card front!

Here is a closeup of the die cut to show you how cleanly it cuts!  And, it pops out of the die easily.

Inside my card I used another great new die called Daisy Border.
It makes for a fun inside!
Finished size is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4.

My second card is a fun Valentine with the new Scalloped Heart die.  I cut a window with the Heart die and then embossed the paper.

The little heart is from inside the "O" of the LOVE die from the front of the card.
Finished card is 4 5/8 x 4 5/8.

Serendipity Embossing & Stitching!

Over at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog the Design Team is doing stitching this month.  As an added challenge this week we are also doing embossing/debossing with dies.

Why not play along using Stitches?  Create a project - any theme - just be sure to include some stitching and at least one Serendipity Stamps image (Stamp or Die) on your project!   Stitches can be stamped, hand drawn, embossed, die cut, or sewn - use your imagination.  You could win a prize!

I pulled out my Mom's old sewing machine from 1959 and did some black stitching on 2 layers of my card.  One of the key things to remember with using a sewing machine on your cards is not to put adhesive behind where you'll be sewing.  The glue gets on the needle and causes problems!

You can barely tell in the photo but I did emboss my white background with the floral butterfly die.  It gives a nice subtle image.

Inside the card I stamped the great Butterfly Background words.
I just love this stamp!
Finished size is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.

Serendipity's special this week is Free Shipping for orders  in the US for $10 or more!   This is a great chance to snap up the stamps from the Wood Mounted Stamp sale.  Offer good through March 26.

PPC & Serendipity Stamps Blog HOP!

Serendipity Stamps is having a blog hop with Perfect Paper Crafting!  We are using both companies products in this hop and there will be 2 $50 gift certificates given away!  Just leave comments on EVERY blog post by Sunday, March 16 (Midnight Pacific Time) for a chance to win.  The 2 random winners will be announced on Monday, March 17.

I used PPC's new Mini Perfect Layers on my card.  It is so nice to have a smaller version of the 12" Perfect Layers!  I've used those for more than 7 years to make perfect mats for my square and rectangular cards.

After I cut the black layers at 1/16" I used the Mini Perfect Layers again to do my pink and blue layers.

I used the 3/8" for my pink border.

For some interest I cut a Fancy Tag 2 die cut and put it behind my SPRING sentiment.

Inside my card I stamped a great spring sentiment and the dogwood branch again.  I'm so excited that Spring is right around the corner!!

Mojo Monday 334 - G45 Botanical Tea

Graphic 45's Botanical Tea is in stores now!  I couldn't wait to get my hands on this beautiful paper so I paired it up with this week's MOJO Monday 334 Challenge.

This lenten rose image has been sitting on my desk for a long time waiting for a card to call home.  I noticed the greens matched my new paper so this card went together easily.  I went a little wider than the challenge called for because I needed the extra room for the flower.

Inside my card I put some paper scraps and stamped the elegant border at the bottom of my liner.  Graphic 45 does such a good job making matching stamps for their collections.
Finished size is 4 x 6.

  • Stamps: Flourishes - Always Blooming, Graphic 45 Hampton Arts - Botanical Tea Set 3
  • INK: Distress - Stormy Sky, Color Box - Cat's Eye - Creamy Brown
  • Paper: Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea 8x8, Bazzill Heavyweight Brown
  • Other: misc button, Perfect Layers, Copics, Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea - Tags & Pockets
