Serendipity Stamps Fall Blog Hop!

We are having a special Fall Blog Hop to show off the great new images and dies for Serendipity Stamps Fall Release!

Hopefully you came from Marybeth Lopez's site:

I used this darling new stamp called Kitty and Jack for my Halloween card!

I had a great time coloring it with my Copics and I added some
Viva Clear Gloss Pen to the moon for some shine.

This sheer ribbon from my stash was the perfect compliment to the card.

The new BOO Die adds that little something inside my card.
I die cut it twice with black and green papers and layered it.
The finished size is 5 1/4 square.

Next you'll hop on to Vickie Zimmer's blog:

You have until Sept 1 to leave comments and the winner will be announced on Mary's blog on Sept 2.The Prize?  A $20 gift code off your next order.  There is a second chance to win - Like us and Share.

Graphic 45 - An Eerie Tale Angle Card

I have been playing with An Eerie Tale paper from Graphic 45 lately.  I made this angled tri-fold card and decorated both sides of it.  Here is the front and I did a ribbon closure that is tied on the side.

Here are the 2nd and 3rd front panels of the card.  I could write a message on the postcard.

These are the shorter panels on the backside of the card.   You can see that this fairy shows on the front side of the card when it is closed.  I got the fairy die as a freebie from Spellbinders at CHA last month.  I never thought I'd use it but look how pretty it is with this paper!

The backside last and largest panel is shown here.  Decorating the backside of the card is optional.  But, I love to use patterned paper whenever I can!  Especially paper as pretty as this one is!

The card measures 4 x 6 closed.  Cut your paper to 6 x 12 and score at 4 and 8.  Then make a mark on one edge at 4 inches then cut at the diagonal from the 6 inch end to 4 inches.  That gives you the angle at the top.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

  • Ink: Cat's Eye - Blackbird Chalk Ink

The Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge  has a great challenge for August and it is Missing you/Wish you were here. For the design team we added in Simple for August 6 and Fancy/Fussy for August 20, using the same image.  I've used the Live your Life sentiment for mine.  This time its FANCY!

See my Fancy lace, flowers, leaf and pearls?

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the sentiment on the front and inside.  It is one stamp so I just inked up the words I wanted each time.

Finished size is an A2 - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Graphic 45 Raining Cats & Dogs Book & Case

When I got this great new paper by Graphic 45 I knew I wanted to make an accordion book and case for it.  I painted the edges of the case and book black before I adhered anything.
Above is the front side of the case.

Here is the other side of the case.  The image is just part of one piece of 12 x 12 paper and a little die cut cat in the corner.  The case measures about 5 x 7.

I glued a ribbon across the front of the book leaving the ribbon hanging over the sides.  This way you just wrap the ribbon around the back of the book and tie on one side.
This picture is the front of the book.

Here is the back of the book and I untied the ribbon so you could see the whole page.

On to the pages.....there are LOTS since I decorated the front and back of the book.

more pages....

I used the Banner and Tags plus the Journaling Cards to decorate the pages.

The black mat tucked behind the picture sides out and a photo or journaling can be adhered to it.

The strip of stamps is a pocket.  This black mat also pulls out.
So, there is lots of room for pictures of Cat & Dogs!
  • Graphic 45 - Raining Cats & Dogs supplies: 12 x 12 paper, Journaling Cards, Banners & Tags, Flowers

Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea Cards

Recently I taught a class of 5 cards I designed with Graphic 45's Botanical Tea papers.
Here are the cards which are all made with the 12 x 12 papers.

My inspiration for this class was the sheet with 6 - 4 x 6 pictures, Love Notes.

Love Notes

The sentiment is also from Graphic 45's Botanical Tea set.  I stamped it first with Versafine Vintage Sepia ink then die cut it with a Spellbinders die.

I custom designed the size of this pocket and used the Envelope Punch Board to make it.  It had to fit the tag inside so I cut the paper 6 3/4" square.

The cute little teapot die is from Serendipity Stamps.  The tag is stamped with another image from the matching stamp set.

I call this one the FRAME card.  I die cut the window out of the blue piece with a Spellbinder die and popped it up with foam tape.

When I saw this great Anna Griffin die I just knew I had to have it and pair it up with Botanical Tea!  The big roses are fussy cut and mounted with foam tape.

I've moved on to teaching a class of cards and a box with a matching mini book with Graphic 45's By the Sea collection.  Next up is Good ol' Sport!
Have a great weekend!

  • Stamps: Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea - Sets 2 & 3

Serendipity Stamps - Simple and Fancy

The Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge  has a new challenge for August and it is Missing you/Wish you were here. For the design team we added in Simple for August 6 and Fancy/Fussy for August 20, using the same image.  I've used the Live your Life sentiment for mine.

I used a simple technique for this simple card.  I created a reverse circle mask and inked inside it with Distress inks in 2 shades.  Then I removed the mask and stamped the sailboat.

I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the sentiment on the front and inside.  It is one stamp so I just inked up the words I wanted each time.

Finished size is 4 3/8 x 4 3/8.
Serendipity has a new sale this week.

MoJo Monday 356 - Cats & Dogs

Mojo Monday 356 is Tall & Skinny!
Their suggested size for your card is 3.5 x 5.5 or 3.5 x 6.
 I went a little bigger at 6.5 x 4.
I needed the extra size to fit in all my elements.

I went to the Craft and Hobby Association Convention this week here in Atlanta and took a class hosted by Graphic 45.  I got the meet some of the great team that brings us Graphic 45 papers.  Their booth was beautiful and showcased the 3 new lines of paper coming out this month.  One of those lines is Raining Cats & Dogs.  I was able to get my hands on this paper (it was not for sale) and I created a few things from it.

Here is a closeup of the flower and leaves from the paper that I fussy cut.  The floral paper in this line is just beautiful!  And, the colors are outstanding.

Inside my card I used some paper scraps and a little flag from the Banners & Tags punch outs.
The liner is from Graphic 45's A Place in Time line, the backside of the December sheet.

Be sure to check out all the great cards in this week's challenge HERE!
