Serendipity Stamps - AUGUST BLOG HOP!

Welcome to another BLOG HOP by Serendipity Stamps!
This month's theme is BABY (and fabric for the Design Team).

For the AUGUST HOP you should have arrived
here from the talented Mary Beth:

We are at the half way point of this months challenge and we're
showing more samples for the latest challenge and we have a blog hop.
The hops are to show you what's new at Serendipity Stamps and to
give you a chance to win some goodies of your own!

I attempted to make a mobile-like card with the cute
Little Critters Dies and the new Speech Bubble stamp.

As you can see from the above close up, the animals hang free
from the card.  They can move around just like they were
hanging from a mobile. I glued the thread in between
2 layers of each animal and ornament.

Inside my card I glued some more die cut animals and a balloon.

Finished size is 4 x 4.

If you comment on all the blogs the prize is a $20 gift certificate
to one commenter randomly selected from all the blogs.
You can leave comments through August 21.
The winner will be announced on Mary's blog on August 22.

SSCB #58 Add Fabric!

This months Challenge is to Add Fabric!  You can use
fabric, ribbon, lace, linen - use your imagination! I used silk ribbon.
You can find all the details to play along HERE on the SSCB.

I made 2 baby cards and tied the tiny bows onto a salad fork!
It was the only thing I had that would make such tiny bows.
They measure about 3/8".

Light blue for the baby boys.....

Medium pink for the baby girls (its much lighter in person!)

The finished size is 3 3/4" square.

G45 Safari Pop-Up Box

I've got another Graphic 45 Safari Adventure card to show you today.
This one is an A-2 when folded flat.  To start I used a card base from
The Paper Cut, Pop-Up Box in Black.

I decorated the outside of the box before I assembled it.
After assembling it I added the inside
layers with the birds and grass.

I fussy cut the birds and some of the flowers on the front tag.
The grass is an Impression Obsession die.

Here is a closeup of the birds.  Some of them are glued to the inside
by their tails and others I added with a strip of acetate.
This card can be seen in person at Impressive Ideas in Norcross, GA.

Have a great week!

  • Graphic 45 Safari Adventure Collection: 12 x 12 paper, 8x8 paper pad, 6x6 paper pad
  • Dies: Impression Obsession: Grass  DIE038-J

Graphic 45 Safari Adventure Cards

Good Morning! I've been making some cards with a paper
line from Graphic 45 I just LOVE!
I was able to work in some die cuts from Tim Holtz's new die set,
TROPICALS.  I love the big images in this set.

Inside the card I did my usual layering of coordinating papers
and elements from the Banners & Tags.

With my parrot card I popped the bird and the frame.
You can see the unclose detail below.

See how the frame and bird are another layer?

I fussy cut a smaller parrot for the corner inside the card.

The cards can be seen at Impressive Ideas in Norcross, Georgia.
Have a great weekend!

SSCB #57 Just Add Water!

This months Challenge is to JUST ADD WATER!  You can use
a water related image or use watercolors.  I did both.
You can find all the details to play along HERE.

I used a stamp block to make my background.  I added 3 colors of ink,
spritzed it with water and then pressed it into the watercolor paper.
I added a little extra water to blend the colors.
At the bottom of the card I added drops of Viva Gold Pen and colored sand.

For the shells, I clear embossed them with Vintage Sepia Ink and
painted them with Distress Ink.
The finished size is an A-2.

Serendipity Stamps - JUNE Blog Hop!

For the HOP you should have arrived here from the talented Mary Beth:

We are at the half way point of this months challenge and we're showing more samples for the latest challenge and we have a blog hop. The hops are to show you what's new at Serendipity Stamps and to give you a chance to win some goodies of your own!

Why use pattern paper when you can stamp your own beautiful background? Use a background stamp or make your own pattern using smaller images. Just make sure you use at least ONE Serendipity Stamps image on your design.
You can find the details HERE.

For today's HOP the Design Team has the added challenge
of a Wedding or Anniversary theme.  So, I made a card with this beautiful
sentiment and the underlay has background stamping.

I used the Pansy Corner stamp on my corners and heat embossed
it with gold embossing powder.  The sentiment is also
heat embossed with gold.  This could be an anniversary or wedding card.

The inside is ready for a sentiment when I send it.
The pansies are gold embossed here too.
The finished size is 5 x 5.
