Holtz - Silly Monsters Day 3

I've made a bunch of Silly Monster cards with Tim Holtz's new dies.
I'll post one a day over the next few days.  (It is day 3.)
I die cut the Silly Monsters from Stardream Metallic paper with Distress
Oxide Inks on them.  I find using a coated paper helps the ink move
and react with water better than card stock and
metallic paper adds a little shimmer!

This guy reminds me of MIKE from Monsters Inc.
but he has 2 eyes instead of just 1!  I edged
him in a little Charcoal Chalk ink to make him
stand out from the background.

Finished size is 4 1/4" square.

Have a great week!
  • Stamps: Tim Holtz - Crazy Talk, Slate & Stone CSM 299
  • Dies: Tim Holtz - Silly Monsters, Impression Obsession - Scribbles Circles, Lawn Fawn - Stitched Squares & Rectangles, MFT - Wonky Squares
  • Ink: Distress Oxides, Versafine Onyx Black, Cat's Eye - Chalk Ink Charcoal
  • Paper: Stardream Metallic - Hera 12x12, Neenah Solar White, Bazzill Licorice Twist, The Paper Cut - Brick

Serendipity Stamps - JUNE Blog Hop #2!

Welcome to the second BLOG HOP for June!
This time I used the cute SUMMER die!
On this card I used Distress Oxide Inks on shimmer paper
and clear embossed it before I die cut SUMMER.
It gives it a nice shine!

For the background on this one I applied my Oxide inks then clear
embossed some shells on top.
Glossy Accents is added to the sun to make it SHINE!
I used Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide ink
to color the edges of my card so it would match.

Inside I stamped one of the cute shells In Distress Oxide Broken China.
Finished size of both cards is 4" square.

Serendipity Stamps - JUNE Blog HOP!

Welcome to Serendipity Stamps JUNE Blog Hop!  I was inspired by this
new beautiful quote called I Will Write Peace.
This card is 4 1/2" square and the sentiment is heat embossed.

My second card uses different colors and the Dragonfly stamp
on the background.  The sentiment is clear embossed as are
the dragonflies.

I had a customer ask for this sentiment in a stamp so
I asked Mary to create it and she did!  Love it and the font!
Thanks Mary!

Finished size is 5" square.

Dear Santa Kitty

I just LOVE this little retro kitty from the Avery Elle
stamp and die set called Dear Santa.
On this card I paired her up with an Impression Obsession
sentiment and the My Favorite Things Quilt die.

After assembling the quilt I ran it through my
Vagabond with an embossing folder.
The finished size is 5x5 and I used
Penny Black Holiday Trimmings 6x6 paper.

A very simple tag die cut with Bo Bunny's tag set.
A little Copic coloring and done!

Another tag in Bazzill Heavyweight papers and a
Serendipity Stamps snowflake die cut.
I make lots of tags every year because they
are FAST, LITTLE and FUN!

Have a great week!

Graphic 45 St. Nicholas Cards

I've been making some holiday cards, tags and envelopes with
Graphic 45's St. Nicholas papers and embellishments.
The tag above was die cut with Bo Bunny's tag die and the tree is
Yvonne Creations Snowy Trees die.  I
snuck in one of Tim Holtz's Jingle Brads. So cute!

This one is an A-2 and I used the matching chipboard and some
Wild Orchid Flowers.  The tree charm in the corner is from Maya Road.

This one is an A-2 as well.  The deer and the trim is from Maya Road.

I used the Herringbone technique shown on Splitcoast Stampers
for this background.
The Merry Christmas die is from Impression Obsession
and the tree is Yvonne Creations.

The stamp inside is from Impression Obsession too.
The deer is from the IO Merry Christmas die.

Tags and Pockets from the St. Nicholas line are featured on this
A-2 card.  The deer is Maya Road.
I inked all the edges with a Cat's Eye Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink Pad.

All the papers are either the 12x12 or 6x6 from Graphic 45 and are
available at Impressive Ideas in Norcross, Ga.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

hanging from a mobile. I glued the thread in between
2 layers of each animal and ornament.

Inside my card I glued some more die cut animals and a balloon.

Finished size is 4 x 4.

G45 Safari Pop-Up Box

I've got another Graphic 45 Safari Adventure card to show you today.
This one is an A-2 when folded flat.  To start I used a card base from
The Paper Cut, Pop-Up Box in Black.

I decorated the outside of the box before I assembled it.
After assembling it I added the inside
layers with the birds and grass.

I fussy cut the birds and some of the flowers on the front tag.
The grass is an Impression Obsession die.

Here is a closeup of the birds.  Some of them are glued to the inside
by their tails and others I added with a strip of acetate.
This card can be seen in person at Impressive Ideas in Norcross, GA.

Have a great week!

  • Graphic 45 Safari Adventure Collection: 12 x 12 paper, 8x8 paper pad, 6x6 paper pad
  • Dies: Impression Obsession: Grass  DIE038-J
  • Card: The Paper Cut- Black A-2 Pop-Up Box Card

IO Challenge - Season's Greetings

Impression Obsession is having a Season's Greetings Challenge
and I decided to play along with TWO cards.
I die cut VERY MERRY in different colors and glued them onto
an embossed piece of Constellation White shimmer paper.

Finished size is an A-2.

My next card has the same die cut but fewer words!
Gold Mirror paper gives cards such an elegant look so I used it for my words
and a layer.  I love a gold, red and white color combo.

Finished size is 4 3/4 x 3 1/2.

  • DIE: Impression Obsession - Very Merry
  • Paper: Gold Mirror, Curious Cryogen White, Bazzill - Red Hots
  • Other: Lawn Fawn - Stitched Rectangle dies, Echo Park - Winter Chill Embossing Folder

Chilly the Penguin

In September I took a class from the talented Karen Burniston.
We made a display board with her wonderful animal dies
made by Elizabeth Crafts.
My favorite is Cheepers the Chicken but I thought
Chilly the Penguin would make a cute Christmas Card.

I added papers embossed with an Echo Park embossing folder
(Winter Chill) and I highlighted it with Bo Bunny's Sugar Glitter Paste
(but you can't see the sparkle in the photo).  His beak and toes are colored
with a Copic Marker and his scarf is cut from Bazzill Rain paper.

I needed a sentiment so I split Impression Obsession's
Very Merry die with MERRY on the outside and CHRISTMAS on the inside.
You can see this card in person at Impressive Ideas in Norcross, Georgia.
The finished size is an A-2.

Stay Warm!
