Serendipity Embossing & Stitching!

Over at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog the Design Team is doing stitching this month.  As an added challenge this week we are also doing embossing/debossing with dies.

Why not play along using Stitches?  Create a project - any theme - just be sure to include some stitching and at least one Serendipity Stamps image (Stamp or Die) on your project!   Stitches can be stamped, hand drawn, embossed, die cut, or sewn - use your imagination.  You could win a prize!

I pulled out my Mom's old sewing machine from 1959 and did some black stitching on 2 layers of my card.  One of the key things to remember with using a sewing machine on your cards is not to put adhesive behind where you'll be sewing.  The glue gets on the needle and causes problems!

You can barely tell in the photo but I did emboss my white background with the floral butterfly die.  It gives a nice subtle image.

Inside the card I stamped the great Butterfly Background words.
I just love this stamp!
Finished size is 4 3/4 x 6 3/4.

Serendipity's special this week is Free Shipping for orders  in the US for $10 or more!   This is a great chance to snap up the stamps from the Wood Mounted Stamp sale.  Offer good through March 26.
Check out what the rest of the Design Team created:

Thanks for the tip about not using adhesive before sewing. I use my mom's old sewing machine too! It's an old Lady Kenmore and weighs a TON! The man who cleaned it for me recently called it the "Queen of Sewing Machines" and scolded me for not taking better care of "her".

I love all the close ups so I can soak in all the wonderful details, the debossing, the twine threaded through the frame. Wonderful!

Beautiful Mariam, the butterfly was a great choice for the embossing.
