Botanical Tea card & mini book

Today I have a card and a mini book to show you that I made with Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper.  My card started with the big, beautiful postcard stamp from Just Rite.  I stamped it several times on patterned paper.  I airbrushed the actual postcard and added the popped leaves, flowers and butterfly on top.

I layered my card with a die cut and several layers of paper for a good foundation.  I've also colored this image with Copics for a simpler card.  I just LOVE it!

I almost always make a mini book when the new Graphic 45 collections come out.  I couldn't resist with Botanical Tea!  There are so many good images to fussy cut!
My mini measures 4 x 3.

It's easy to decorate the inside pages with tags and other fussy cut flowers and butterflies! Tip: Decorate your inside pages before adding the cover to your mini book.  The pages will lay flat and after you add your cover, they won't.

My back cover is a great place to put the small pictures from the 8 x 8 paper pad.
I had so much fun putting this together!
  • Stamps: Just Rite - Rose Postcard
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black, Cat's Eye - Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink
  • Paper: Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea 12 x 12, 8 x 8, 6 x 6, black and kraft cardstock
  • Other: Graphic 45 - Botanical Tea - Tags & Pockets & Chipboard, foam tape, ABS, Copics, misc ribbon & twine

Serendipity - New Stamps Blog Hop!

We have some new stamps to show you today!  The Serendipity Spring Release has flowers, new sentiments and a cute mason jar! If you comment on each BLOG you could win a $20 gift code for your next purchase of Serendipity Stamps online!  You have until midnight on Sunday, April 27 to comment.
The winner will be posted on Mary's Blog on Monday April 28.

I have 3 cards to show you today.  Using a Stamp-a-ma-jig helps place the flowers in the jar just right.  This Mother's Day card has some shiny accents on it.

I used Crackle Accents on the jar and VIVA Gold pen for the flower centers.

The new Mother's Day stamp adorns the inside.  It reminds me of my cross stitching days!
 Finished size is an A-2.

This card has cute aprons hanging from a clothes line for you to color or emboss!  I love the cherries on the blue apron.  A great image for Mother's Day for someone who cooks.

My third card uses the new Flower Pops stamp set.
I stamped them on patterned paper and cut them out.

Finished size is 4 1/4 square.

Next up on the HOP is  Pauline!

SSCB #30 - Shades of Grey Box

April continues with Serendipity Stamps Blog Challenge with Shades of Grey.  The Design Team has added a "Love is in the Air" theme as well.  There is still time for you to play along and win a prize!

I decided to make a box that my friend Renita taught me how to make out of 1 sheet of 12 x 12 paper.  It has a belly band to keep it closed.  This is a shot from above to show the top and side.

Here is a shot with the belly band removed.  The small "Love Inside" unmounted stamp is on sale right now for just .25 cents!
The box measures about 3 1/2 inches.

Want to play along in our Shades of Grey Challenge?  Just create a project using a Serendipity Stamps image or die by May 5 for a chance to win a $20 discount code towards your next purchase.  A winner will be chosen at random.  Make sure you use black, white and grey only. Blueprint Bunny Boy's Cards

I don't know about you all but I need Easter cards for boys.  I have 4 nephews and while 2 of them are young enough for "cute" cards, 2 are older and need something more masculine.  That makes me think of Tim Holtz and his Blueprint stamps.

I've made 3 similar cards and paper pieced the bunnies with brown paper to make them look chocolate.  I didn't have a Holtz Easter sentiment stamp so for this one I used Graphic 45's Sweet Sentiments Set # 3.  I love the look of the font with the blueprint stamp.

This one is similar to the first but I changed up the paper.
The bow tie really pops in a lighter color.

Inside I used another cute stamp from the same Graphic 45 set.  This trio of bunnies is perfect for a corner or envelope.  All the cards are A-2, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
I hope this inspires you to make some masculine Easter cards!

  • Stamps: Stampers Anonymous - Tim Holtz Collection - Easter Blueprints & Simple Sayings; Graphic 45 - Sweet Sentiments - Set # 3
  • Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black & Vintage Sepia, Cat's Eye - Blackbird Chalk Ink
  • Paper: Authentique - Hope 6x6, PTI Kraft, brown card stock
  • Other: Mini Perfect Layers, Black pearls

CTD 287 Easter Card

I needed to make some Easter cards and wanted to use my IO Bunny, Cloud and Grass dies to make a scene.  The Color Throwdown had the perfect Easter colors for their challenge this week so I decided to play along.

I needed a frame for my scene so rather than just cutting an open square, I used Spellbinders Captivating Squares die.

For the details, I used some tiny brown pearls for the eyes, a tiny leaf punch for the eggs and a Sizzix embossing folder to give texture to the clouds.  Finished size is 4 1/4 square.
Here are the colors for the challenge:

  • Stamps: SU! Happy Easter
  • Ink: Cat's Eye - Creamy Brown, Versafine - Vintage Sepia
  • Paper: SU! Barely Banana, Soft Sky, Pistachio Pudding, Neenah Solar White, PTI Kraft
  • Impression Obsession Dies: Bunny Set, Grass Border, Clouds
  • Other: Spellbinders - Captivating Squares, pearls, leaf punch, VIVA Glass Effect Gel - Crystal Clear, oval punch, Sizzix embossing folder, Corner Chomper

Graphic 45 Good Ol' Sport Cards

Today I have 2 cards to show you that I made from Graphic 45's Good Ol' Sport paper.  The first one is a tri-fold gift card holder that measures 4 x 12.

The inside folds have 2 pockets you can fill.  Put in a birthday greeting and a gift card for the sportsman in your life.  Maybe one from the Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting Goods?

This card could be given to the golf or tennis lover.  I fussy cut the couple out of the 12x12 paper and popped them on the card with foam tape.

A little piece of chipboard adorns the corner.
I love using the 6x6 matching paper on the inside of the card.  Add a liner, border and tiny postcard to finish it off.  I left the inside blank so I can stamp a sentiment later.
This one measures 6 x 4 1/4.

Have a great weekend everyone!
  • Paper: Good Ol' Sport 6x6, 8x8, 12x12, Bazzill Heavyweight 12 x 12 Navy card stock, Neenah Black Linen
  • Color Box - Cat's Eye - Chestnut Roan and Blackbird
  • Other: G45 Good Ol' Sport Chipboard, May Arts - Black Crinkle ribbon

Serendipity Challenge - Shades of Grey

Shades of Grey is the new monthly challenge over at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog! I've always loved a black and white combo so this one wasn't too hard for me.  I made a matching envelope for my card with my Envelope Punch Board.

To start I used an Anna Griffin die to cut a black and a white layer.  Then I cut the white layer in two down the middle and glued it off-center to the back of the black one.   It makes for a nice highlight.  I used another die to cut a hole in the white card layer and put foam tape behind it.

This picture shows the window.  The die cut is glued flat and the sentiment layer has foam tape behind it.  This sentiment is my absolute favorite quote from many years ago.  When I asked Mary of Serendipity Stamps to make it into a stamp, she did!  And, the font is just right.

My finished card is 5 x 6 3/4.

Want to play along?  Just create a project using a Serendipity Stamps image or die by May 5 for a chance to win a $20 discount code towards your next purchase.  A winner will be chosen at random.  Make sure you use black, white and grey only. More details can be found here.
