Today I have my Happy Hauntings Halloween Accordian Window book to show you! About a year ago a friend of mine, Patti Bachelder, taugh me how to make this wonderful book. She found it in an old issue of The Stamper's Sampler but there were no instructions so she just figured out how to make it herself!
This one is made with Graphic 45's Happy Haunting 8x8 paper. It is the perfect size to make a 4x4 book. If you use 6x6 paper, you can make a 3x3 book.
There are a total of 5 panels in this book. Three on one side, 2 on the other. You can make as many panels as you wish but it needs to be an odd number. Last year I made a Christmas book with Graphic 45's Christmas Emporium paper with 7 panels. You can also use this technique on the inside of a card.
This side just has 2 panels. Here is a closer look at 4 of the panels.....
The windows are cut with Spellbinder dies. I used a different one for each panel. Some pages have stamping.
This spider is made using the honeycomb technique and a
large Martha spider punch.
This panel is a night scene with Impression Obsession dies
and images fussy-cut from the G45 HH paper.
The paper is so busy I had to mat most of my decorations with black paper so they would stand out. The images of the children, the moon and the 2 borders on the bottom are stickers.
Here is the back cover. The pages of the book are 4 x 4 but the black mat board covers are 4 1/4 x 4 1/4. They are glued onto the book then decorated. The ribbon that ties around the book to close it is only adhered to the front cover. It must hang loose so the book will open properly.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this spooky project. I had great fun making it!
