Serendipity : My Fantasy Life

This week's challenge for Serendipity Stamps is "My Fantasy Life".  I have several so I asked myself, "I wish I could......" and one of my answers was:  be a full time gardener!  One of my top 10 favorite plants is a butterfly bush.  I had one that died in the drought a few years ago so I put a new one in.  The blooms on this one are even prettier than the old one.  I tried to duplicate the color here with Copics.  Aren't the details of this stamp just fabulous?!

For a little extra color in the center of the blooms I added a violet Inktense pencil by Derwent.  They are fun water soluble pencils that can be blended with water or Gamsol (odorless mineral spirits). They are not translucent like watercolor pencils. I airbrushed the background with a little blue, double matted it and finished it off with a scored kraft card.  Finished size is 4.5 x 6.25.

Check out what the other SS design team members came up with:

Great job Miriam! Wouldn't being a full time gardener be lovely? I'd have to throw in a few hours of knitting and reading to get my back straigtened out! Good luck with your butterfly bush! I have 3 now! My advice - don't bother with the off-color ones (like yellow) - they are too sensitive!

I agree, Miriam! I would love to fiddle around in the garden more, too. This card is beautiful - your coloring is fantastic!

Miriam, I so envy your gardening ability. My thumb is about the same color as that kraft card stock you used! Gorgeous pairing of the kraft with the purple!
