Repeat Impressions DCC - Watercoloring

This time it is my turn to pick the Designers Choice Challenge at Repeat Impressions!  I chose watercoloring for my technique to challenge myself.  I've been using Copics so much I haven't watercolored in so long.  PLUS, I got a new set of Derwent Intense Watersoluble Ink Pencils and wanted to try them.  The colors are much more vibrant than regular watercolor pencils.

After using waterproof ink to stamp my image I just colored the pencils on the image and using a waterbrush, blended the colors together.

I seem to always be in need of cards for men and boys so I made this card with a more masculine feel.  No bling at all and just a few brown pearls for an accent on the sentiment.

We'd love for you to play along on our challenge and win a prize! Check out what the other Rock Stars watercolored and challenge details on The House That Stamps Built.
  • Stamps: Repeat Impressions - Chickadee at Rest 211-P, Happy Birthday
  • Ink: Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black, Versafine Onyx Black for sentiment
  • Paper:  SU! Woodlands, Garden Green, Black and Early Espresso, Arches 140 lb Hot Press watercolor paper
  • Other: Spellbinders Labels 18 & 11, SU! oval punch & Early Espresso taffeta ribbon, Micron Pen, waterbrush, Derwent Inktense pencils, Sizzix woodgrain embossing folder, foam tape

Very wonderfully watercolored, Miriam! I love all your matting layers, and the line you drew around the edge of your image. Thanks for a great challenge!
