Newton's Nook - Birthday Bash

I just love this little kitty named Newton.

He has all kinds of stamps make of his likeness.

These images of Newton come from the set Newton's Birthday Bash.

I colored Newton with Copic Markers and 

popped him up with foam tape.

This card is an A-2.

Inside is a little Birthday sentiment.  I just LOVE this little kitty!

Crazy Dog Cards

I've watercolored some cards with Tim Holtz's cute Crazy Dogs!

I used Prismacolor's Watercolor Pencils on Ranger's watercolor paper.  

I added some Glossy Accents to the eyes and dog tag for some shine.  

Fido looks a little surprised

so I added the sentiment, "You're how old?"

And a little bone on the inside.

The look on the bulldogs face is priceless!  I used Art Impressions 

little grass stamps all around him and....

an appropriate message on the inside!

This little hound is perfect for a small tag.  Again on watercolor paper.

Now there are dies for all these pups.  Try them out!

Almost a year ago a friend gave me the birthday card shown

SSCB #55 - Die Cuts!

This months Challenge is to use a die cut! EASY!

I used the Happy Birthday die cuts for my card.  

Initially I popped the words with black fun foam but it was too bold.  

So, I went back to one layer.

The black picks up the black center of the flower nicely.

Inside my card I stamped part of the From Me to You stamp.

Finished size is 6 3/8 x 4 3/8.

I made a little tag with the Daisy Garden die.

Finished size is 3 1/2 x 2 3/8.

Serendipity Summer Release Blog Hop - Day 3

So it is Day 3 of the Serendipity Stamps Summer Release Blog Hop.  
Today I have a few new stamps to show off.  Isn't the peacock image pretty?  
I had fun coloring her to match the paper.

The branch and bird are separate images so I stamped the bird first then masked her.  I stamped the branch under her so she would be sitting on it.  I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to make sure the placement was just right.

Adding a few gems gives the card a little sparkle.

Inside a classic birthday sentiment finishes it off.

The finished size is 6 x 6.

Serendipity Blog Hop!

We have some great new dies from Serendipity Stamps for our BLOG HOP to show you today.  
I used "Baby", "Thanks" and the Floral Frame for my cards.

My first card has the new BABY word die.  
I cut it twice and glued the white one on top of the brown one to shadow it.
I think Baby cards are some of the most fun to make because the papers are so cute with great color schemes.

Inside I kept it simple with a Congratulations! stamp. 
Finished size of this card is 6 3/4 x 5.

 This card started out all green and black but I liked it better with a different colored butterfly.  So, I inked the thistle and butterfly separately with Distress Ink Pads.

Here is a close-up of the word die.  They cut really clean and pop right out of the die!
Finished size for this card is 6 x 4 7/8.

 

Isn't this a great frame?!  The floral design matches the butterflies!  

I popped it with tiny pieces of black foam tape.

I backed the floral butterflies in white and put foam tape on those too.

Inside I stamped the classic Happy Birthday and put a die cut of the small butterfly in grey.  

Finished size is 5 1/8 x 5 1/8.

Serendipity Frame & G45 Hummingbirds

As a followup to yesterday's Serendipity Stamps post I decided to post a card I made with their new Floral Frame Die!  Isn't it pretty???? It comes with a butterfly, a dragonfly, a corner piece and an end piece (see picture below).

I die cut it in dark brown and backed it with some subtle floral paper from Graphic 45.

Inside I stamped a birthday sentiment and added some fussy cut flowers.  All the DSP is Graphic 45's Botanical Tea.  The finished size is 5 1/4 square.

Serendipity Type/Music Challenge

IO Flowers Challenge

Impression Obsession is having a Flowers Challenge!  Check it out and play along for a prize! 

I made this hydrangea card with an IO die and I just love the way it turned out. It looks a bit washed out in the picture.  I used K & Company's Flora & Fauna paper for my background. I used a Viva pen to put the tiny dots of green in the flowers.  The leaves needed a little highlighting so I rubbed some Chestnut Roan ink on them.

I finished it off with a matted Stampers Anonymous sentiment.

Color Throwdown 225

For this week's Color Throwdown Kerri gave us some bright colors mixed  with neutrals.  I really love Kraft paper so this one was right up my alley!  Check out the blog for inspiration from the Design Team and play along.

My flowers are die cut and then finished by me.  I ink the paper edges before I wind them up.  A pearl in the center completes the flowers.

Time for another Timeless Tuesday Challenge from Flourishes!  This time the challenge from Makiko is to pick an "Alphabet Letter" and have at least 3 supplies or elements beginning with that letter on your project.

FTTC163 - Happy Birthday!

The Timeless Tuesday Challenge over at Flourishes this week is to make a Birthday card!  So, I decided to go the masculine route since I have 4 brothers-in-law (and no brothers!).   I stamped the medallion in Rich Cocoa ink so I could color it with my Copics. 

I cut it out by hand and glued it to a piece of brown cardstock.  Then I cut the 8 sides so it would make a nice mat for the medallion.  I popped the sentiment and added a copper dragonfly brad for fun.

Finished card is 5.25 square.
