Repeat Impressions SOTW Birdhouse

We've got a new Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week, Birdhouse 4317-E.  Through next Sunday you can purchase this stamp at half price.  Get the details at the Repeat Impressions blog, The House That Stamps Built, and to see the other Rock Stars' cards.

I stamped my birdhouse first then die cut and embossed it using the long rectangular nesties. I stamped the grass, colored it and added the post. The post is a wood sheet embossed and colored with dark brown dye ink.  I stamped the birdhouse a few more times on patterned paper, cut them out and paper pieced the sections and added the heart to the sentiment. The bright Bo Bunny paper was the perfect companion for this spring card.

  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Vintage Sepia for the sentiment

Repeat Impressions Stitching Challenge DCC

It's time for another Designer's Choice Challenge over at Repeat Impressions (DCC)!  Michele chose stitching (real or faux) so I selected the Peaceful Observation stamp (2001-M) for my image.  I cut out the snowflake windows and put some patterned paper behind it.  I added the black scroll to the top in place of the cresent window.  I did attempt to do some REAL zigzag stitching on my DSP layer and here is how it turned out.....

So, I ended up doing faux stitching with a micron pen.

Head on over to The House That Stamps Built for the challenge details, to find out the prize for this challenge and to see the cards from the rest of the design team!

Another Flourishes card for you!  This time I used two sets, Lenten Rose and Seeds of Friendship. I'm not sure if you can buy Lenten Rose seeds but I like the way the seed packet and flowers looked together.  I did my usual Copic coloring and embellishing and actually stitched the border on a sewing machine!!  I thought it looked right with the stitched ribbon.  This card is on display at Impressive Ideas in Roswell, GA.

Mother's Day card....Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 117

There are just some occasions that call for a card that is over the top.  Since I have the GREATEST Mom around, Mother's Day is just such an occasion.  This card was inspired by Jenny Gropp's card found here.
This week's Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge 117 is Anything Goes!  So, I figured this card was as good as any!
Since I got the Grand Nesties 4 I just had to try it out for my card base.  Fancy card calls for a fancy base! Like Jenny, I masked the orchids and airbrushed around them with grey.  Then, it was just a matter of coloring and layering.  My sisters and I gave Mom an orchid for Mother's Day and this card matched perfectly!

  • Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
  • Paper: Cardstock: silver, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Neenah Solar White

A Mug of Flowers

Another card done with the cute Flourishes Mix-n-Mugs set for you.  The white card base and layout was inspired by so many cards that Silke has made.  The white floral border is one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches but I don't find many uses for it.  Glad to be able to use it here!  The flowers in the mug were highlighted with a light blue marker which really makes them stand out from the white background. Card is standard A2 size.
